We are looking for a structured and committed Volunteer Manager who thrives on responsibility, is solution-oriented, and is motivated by creating a strong volunteer environment.

As Volunteer Manager for Narvik 2029, you will have overall responsibility for planning, coordinating, and executing the work related to our volunteers. Volunteers are the heart of the event and essential for its success. During the Championships, approximately 2,000 volunteers will be needed, across various sections and functions.

In the years ahead, the organization will grow significantly, and together we will build the team that will deliver world-class events. You will play a key role in this work. We are looking for someone versatile, comfortable with varied tasks, and able to handle periods of high intensity.

Perhaps most importantly: You enjoy working with people and gain energy from collaborating with individuals of different backgrounds, ages, and experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for recruitment, coordination, and follow-up of volunteers
  • Develop training and competency plans
  • Plan and implement social events and initiatives
  • Serve as superuser and be responsible for the volunteer tool Rubic
  • Overall responsibility for communication with volunteers
  • Budget responsibility for the volunteer area
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting
  • Contribute across the organization as needed

Qualifications

  • Relevant higher education or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong verbal and written skills in Norwegian and English
  • Experience working with volunteers
