Narvikfjellet Allmenn AS has awarded the contract for the development of ski lifts, snowmaking systems, and race cources for the Alpine World Ski Championships 2029 to a consortium consisting of Taubane Teknikk AS, Leitner S.p.A., and DemacLenco S.p.A.

Narvikfjellet Allmenn AS received two bids for the tender. The evaluation criteria for the bids were clearly defined, with 40% weight assigned to price, 30% to project execution capability, and 30% to the qualifications of key personnel included in the bids.

Taubane Teknikk AS, based in Voss, will act as the main contractor and coordinate the project. The company is the exclusive distributor of Leitner and Poma lifts, as well as DemacLenco snow systems, in Norway and Sweden. They supply a full range of lifts—from children’s lifts to gondola systems—and provide services including groundwork, blasting, foundation work, installation, and splicing. They also operate a large spare parts warehouse and service center at their newly built facility in Gardermoen.

Proven Experience with Norwegian Mountain Destinations

Taubane Teknikk AS typically employs around 30 professionals during the summer and autumn seasons, and 12 during the rest of the year. The company has an extensive reference list, including major Norwegian ski resorts such as Hemsedal, Trysil, Hafjell, Kvitfjell, and Geilo.

Italian Suppliers for Lifts and Snowmaking Systems

Italian company Leitner Ropeways will supply five new lifts:

  • New Chairlift to Linken (2025)
  • New Lift 3 (2025)
  • New Lift 2 (2026)
  • New Lift 1 (2026)
  • Temporary Lift to the Second Summit (2027)
  • Additionally, the company has submitted a bid for an optional gondola system.

Italian company DemacLenco will provide snowmaking systems for all trails, as well as pump stations and piping systems. Both companies are leaders in their respective fields, and are part of the HTI Group based in Sterzing, South Tyrol, Italy.
