01/07/2021

Who other than Nestvold-Hagen could defend the Navik 2027 bid for the World Championships? His heart beats for Narvik, as he has learned to appreciate what Narvikfjellet and the unique Arctic nature has to offer.

Professional skier

Nestvold-Haugen holds a strong position in the Norwegian national alpine ski team, and can refer to an impressive list of merits. His best results are bronze medal during the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang 2018, a bronze medal in giant slalom during the World Cup 2017, and 2nd place in the World Cup (giant slalom) in Kranjska Gora in 2017. Nestvold-Haugen also holds two national gold medals from Hemsedal in 2014, and two gold medals from Oppdal in 2017 and 2021.

Narvik 2027 ambassador

Nestvold-Haugen lives in Oslo with his wife and 3 children, which all have spent several Easter holidays in Narvik. Leif Kristian has visited friends and competed in Narvikfjellet since he was a junior, thus developed a close relationship with both the mountain and the region of Narvik. Leif Kristian is an important marketer for the alpine skiing in Narvik, and expresses the potential in Narvikfjellet with an important credibility. Nestvold-Haugen is a self-described ambassador for Narvik 2027, and we are proud to have him on the team!

Cabin Project

In the spring of 2021, Leif Kristian and his wife Marthe bought 10 cabin plots in Narvikfjellet, and will during 2022 build spectacular sustainable and environmentally friendly cabins for sale. They have great faith in the development of Narvikfjellet as a ski destination and invests large resources in this project.

«We have traveled and seen a lot. Narvik and Narvikfjellet are spectacular, maybe even more than the locals can see. We perceive it as something virgin, and want to set an environmental standard for how future development can be, says Marthe Nestvold-Haugen.»
